Title: ‘Breath of Life’
In this collection titled ‘Breath of Life’ I have completed three uniquely exotic, coiled textile pieces with rope and yarn. Through an employment of vibrant pink, yellow, green and blue tones, I have intended to align my colour palette with that of the boldness and playfulness of Stella McCartney’s as well as emphasise the vibrancy of life that is a result of our rhythms of breathing. This exploration of breathing has been furthermore illustrated through an ‘up and down’ motioning in rhythmic lines repeated across the collection in differing although corresponding compositions.

Brief: To continue working within a selected line of investigation (out of contrast, texture, volume, rhythm) and further develop previously successful samples into a substantiated design collection suitable for collaboration with a selected client (Stella McCartney).

Process: To create these pieces I have wrapped coloured yarn tightly around metres of thick rope; and then continued to coil this yarn-wrapped rope together into organic shapes and rhythmic forms.
